Oh, Reena and Robert.  Where do I even start with this amazing wedding?  Reena and I have known each other since our days at St Paul High School (Go Swordsmen!).  She was a good friend in highschool, so I was so honored that she and Robert asked me to capture their wedding day.  I always tear up at weddings that I photograph, but when it’s someone that I’ve known for somewhere around 18 or so years (gosh did that date me or what) since freshman year in high school… well the water works were a’flowin!

Reena and Robert chose The Villa in San Juan Capistrano as their wedding venue, and holy cow, this place is amazing.  It is hands down, one of my all time favorite venues.  It is so gorgeous and historic!  Reena’s attention to detail (as well as all of her team that she had helping her put this day together) made it something straight out of a fairytale.  From the flowing garland centerpieces, to the candle-lit reception, it was simply amazing.

Even more amazing was how much love surrounded Reena and Robert that day.  The love they have for each other was so obvious at their wedding it was remarkable.  From the way Robert’s jaw fell open when Reena walked down the aisle, to the way they looked at each other during their first dance… I get chills thinking about it even now.

When my grandmother passed away a couple of years ago, I inherited her wedding gown.  Stunning as it was, I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but I knew that I wanted to use it in a photograph to capture it’s beauty and in honor of my Grandma.  My Grandmother was a feisty, little Sicilian lady and this dress is seriously a size “nothing”, it’s so petite.  I knew in an instant who I wanted to model it for me.

My Amazing Grace

Grace is my Goddaughter.  She is an angel on earth.  She is kind.  She is funny.  She is beautiful.  She is calm.  She is peaceful.

She is LOVE.

She is simply amazing.  She lives up to her name and walks in sweetness and grace every day of her life.

Even though this photo was to honor my grandmother, it also turned out to honor Grace.  The most beautiful little soul I have ever met.

I love you Gracie and am so proud of who you have become! xo

Amy and Ryan are the kind of people that you meet and instantly feel close to. They are so warm and kind and I seriously have had so much fun every time I’ve been around them! I first met Amy when I was second shooting her sister’s wedding for DrewB Photography last year. Her entire family is so much fun and I am so excited I get to see all of them again at Amy & Ryan’s wedding in November!

I love everything about this session. The light was amazing, the location is one of my favorites and of course I was in awesome company. 🙂 Can’t wait for the wedding, it’s going to be SO much fun!!

Reyes is the daughter of some of our best friends.  Her mom, Theresa and I went to high school together but didn’t know eachother.  My husband, however, worked with her and her husband Frank many years ago.  So when Mike and I started dating, I met the both of them and we became fast friends!  I love that we have been able to see eachother through so many stages of our lives.  Getting married, having kids, raising families…

It’s always amazing to be able to watch kids grow up through my lens and the same has been true for Reyes.  Her and Jackson are only a few months apart, and it’s been so sweet to watch them grow together.

Reyes, You have grown into one of the sweetest most caring 2 year olds I have ever met.  You are so smart and so happy and kind to all those around you.  You are funny and you always brighten everyone’s days with your constant “hi”s and “I lub you”s.  You melt our hearts and have all of us wrapped around your little finger sweet girl!  I am so happy you and Jackson are buddies, you are such a good friend to him.  I lub you Rey Rey! Happy Birthday! 🙂

Jackson crashed the end of Reyes’ session, but like any gentleman he brought flowers 😉
